Sheep, Monkey & Bunny - Soft Toys

These precious monkey, bunny and sheep dolls are very easy to make. Each of the animals can be made in three different sizes – 6”, 7 1/4” and 8 1/2” tall from the top of the head to the bottom of the body. You can make an entire family of each animal type – baby, momma and papa. Your favorite little girl or boy will love carrying these sweet animal dolls around. They are perfect for little hands to hold. The eyes are embroidered and there aren’t any attached embellishments which make them safe for babies (although, babies should always be watched carefully with toys). The arms are folded ribbons.

Sample Dolls are made from chenille fabric (bodies), cotton fabric (faces and hearts) and fleece fabric (ears). Chenille and fleece are optional - you can use all cotton fabrics for dolls. Dolls can be made entirely with hand sewing – there is very little machine sewing involved for those of you that don’t have a sewing machine or enjoy sewing by hand.

MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE ONE OF LARGEST DOLL:

-Fabric rectangles are a guideline – less fabric is needed for small & medium dolls.
-Chenille fabric - 10” x 16” rectangle for body (cotton fabric can be substituted for chenille)
-Cotton pastel dot fabric for face - 3” x 3 1/2” rectangle
-Cotton print or stripe fabric for heart - 3” x 3 1/2” rectangle
-Fleece for monkey & sheep ears - 3” x 5” rectangle
-Fleece for bunny ears - 5” x 7” rectangle
-Iron-on fusible web for face and heart – two 3” x 3 1/2” rectangles
-5/8” to 7/8” Ribbon for arms – two 3/12” pieces for small doll, two 4 1/4” pieces for medium doll, Two 5” pieces for large doll
-Polyester fiberfill stuffing
-Coordinating sewing thread
-Embroidery floss – bright blue, pink & yellow for embroidered details on face & heart
